Matt holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and a Master of Psychology (Clinical), with particular expertise in addressing anxiety, depression, technological-based addictions, burnout, trauma, grief and loss, and phobias.
In his practice, Matt adopts a respectful, caring, and client-focused approach. His strength lies in his approachable, supportive, and empathetic demeanor, allowing him to establish genuine therapeutic relationships from the outset. He takes pride in empowering individuals to unlock their full potential and conquer personal challenges.
With extensive experience in helping adolescents and adults navigate a spectrum of social, emotional, and behavioural issues, Matt also delves into understanding the nexus between mental health and technology-based addictions. This scholarly interest has led Matt to become a highly cited author of numerous journal articles on Internet Gaming Disorder and to undertake research projects focusing on Internet addiction.
Matt integrates various treatment modalities into his practice, including EMDR, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Existential Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Assertiveness Training, Exposure Therapy, and Mindfulness.
