Victims of Crime (VOCAT) Assessment & Counselling
Healing Hearts, Restoring Hope: VOCAT Assessment & Counselling.
What is a Victim of Crime?
A Victim of Crime is someone who has endured physical, psychological, emotional, or financial harm due to a criminal act, such as a violent assault.
Usually, individuals pursuing a VOCAT psychological report are already assisted by a solicitor to facilitate their VOCAT application, ensuring its submission and approval. If you require legal representation, please visit this link or reach out to our helpful receptionist at 8774 5440.
What is VOCAT?
VOCAT, the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal, offers financial aid to victims of crimes within Victoria. Their goal is to aid in victims’ recovery by covering expenses directly resulting from the crime. These may include medical bills, safety-related costs, lost earnings, counselling fees, and other applicable expenses or special financial awards.
What will my assessment be like?
Usually, assessment appointments last for 1.5 hours and can be conducted via Telehealth, phone, or in-person. While the session will touch upon the incident, the primary focus will be on understanding its impact on you. Therefore, if you opt for an online or phone appointment, we suggest choosing a location where you can feel safe and uninterrupted.
